It is our job to get on their level. Not stand above them, but to fight in the trenches WITH them. To have them see us on their left and right hand side through all their struggles. Flexing our ego will only do the opposite. Puffing out our chest to inflate our egos will begin to make you “the boss”. You should never be seen as this, nor should you want that. If you think different, then gaining the buy-in of the team is going to be an uphill battle for you.
