The Ultimate Guide to Creating Buy-in

Ultimate Guide to Creating Buy-in

Introduction

Here is your one stop spot for all things buy-in for your team.  What we decided to do here is list out all the things you’ll need in order to corral your team and get them behind one another from the start.  Although just getting the buy-in isn’t everything.  Some actually might say getting buy-in from a team is easy.  It’s KEEPING that buy-in that is the real trick.  Well, we’ll provide that knowledge here too.

What we’re going to provide here is not only the ability to gain the buy-in but the ability to give your team a “culture pulse check”.  Which means you’ll now be able to see how the team’s culture ranks because you’ll have an awareness of why…but how?  Let’s actually start with who.

Abraham Maslow and His Hierarchy of Needs

Let me introduce you to Abraham Maslow. Abraham was an American Psychologist who popularized the Hierarchy of Human needs. In his model he breaks down, from the foundation to the top, what it is that humans value in order to live a fulfilled life.

We believe this same model can be applied to not only one person but certainly a group of people as well. If we can assess where the group is according to Maslow’s model then we can now know where we should be applying pressure  Do they feel safe?  Are they feeling appreciated?  Do they fully know how to do their job?  If we can apply this perception to the group and understand that the more fulfilled and happy they are, the more effective they will be.

Humans are pack animals and we need one another.  While you surely see the lone wolf human out there surviving alone, they would perform much better with the support of other humans.

Where do we start?

First let us introduce you to maslow’s hierarchy. As you can see we start out from the bottom needing the essentials
